The 2027 EV3 starts at $36,995 MSRP for the Light FWD, the entry point into a ten-trim lineup built on Kia’s 400V E-GMP platform. It’s the third affordable EV Kia has introduced in Canada, following the EV4 and EV5, and it now holds the lowest starting price in the brand’s electric lineup. The lineup splits by battery size more than by trim name. A 58.3 kWh battery powers the Light FWD, while an 81.4 kWh pack powers every other trim, in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. That larger battery is what makes AWD possible on Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT-Line Limited, and it’s standard on the GT. Offering all-wheel drive across most of the lineup is still a rarity among entry subcompact SUV EVs.

Trim Lineup And Pricing

The jump from Light FWD to Wind FWD costs $4,000 and swaps in the 81.4 kWh pack, extending range without adding AWD. At $43,495, the lineup hits its first real fork: Wind AWD and Land FWD cost the same, so the decision comes down to wanting all-wheel traction or Land’s extra FWD content. From there, Land AWD and GT-Line FWD both land at $45,995, and pricing climbs through GT-Line AWD, GT-Line Limited FWD, and GT-Line Limited AWD before topping out at $55,995 for the GT AWD.

Kia’s all-in price for the Light FWD, $39,744, folds in $2,185 of freight and up to $564 in other fees, before licensing, insurance, and tax.

Range splits cleanly by battery and drivetrain:

Every trim charges DC fast at up to 350 kW, moving 10 to 80 percent in about 31 minutes, with an 11.5 kW onboard charger handling Level 2 home charging in roughly seven hours.

Cargo space is built for city errands and weekend trips rather than hauling. A 25-litre front trunk handles a charging cable or gym bag, and the main cargo area behind the rear seats holds up to 740 litres with the floor lowered. Fold the rear seats down and that grows to as much as 1,600 litres.

Tech and comfort content builds through the lineup rather than arriving all at once. Light and Wind trims already carry a 12.3-inch instrument cluster paired with a 12.3-inch multimedia screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and heated front seats. Land adds a sunroof, synthetic leather seating, and a power liftgate. GT-Line steps up with ventilated front seats, a sport steering wheel, and stronger driver-assist tech, while GT-Line Limited layers on items like a digital key.

GT-Line Comfort Or GT Performance

GT-Line and GT-Line Limited are a trim personality, not a separate powertrain: sportier styling, added comfort tech, and a choice of FWD or AWD. They also ride fractionally higher, at 157 mm of ground clearance versus 150 mm for Light, Wind, and Land.

The GT is different. Available by factory order, it pairs the 81.4 kWh battery with standard AWD and produces 288 horsepower and 345 lb-ft of torque, the strongest output in the lineup.

A commuter charging at home overnight can cover most driving on a Wind FWD or Land FWD without paying for AWD. A first-time EV shopper who wants all-wheel traction as a safety net fits Wind AWD or Land AWD. A compact-SUV shopper chasing outright performance is the one watching the GT AWD.
